Hmmm The only alternatives might be to roll back your display adapter drivers to the previous version.

Or possibly check to make sure your chipset drivers are up to date.

Does your display adapter have multiple outputs like vga,dvi,tv. If it does you might try disabling all but your monitor to see if that helps.
