Well you can disable the firewall whilst you use LW but that's not recommended. Or use DMZ which is more or less the same thing.

Are you sure the problem is not hardware based? If you have a high speed modem/router then it no doubt will have an internal NAT firewall. UPnP will usually allow LW to communicate directly with the device to open a port for it. But if your device doesn't support UPnP then port forwarding is the next best step (better & safer than dmz); Connection problems? Check here first! (click on link)
I'm afraid I don't understand what you're saying. It's not *my* firewall, it's the apartment's firewall. Yes, they put a firewall in a place where I pay rent. I've tried manual port forward and UPnP. No programs connect - not Limewire, or Morpheus or Shareza. None of them! I've even disabled Windows Firewall, but no dice.

What's DMZ?
