please check if you have a proxy for your internet. goto your desktop right click on internet explorer and select properties/settings.
goto the connections tab select your connection and open its settings/properties. check if a proxy server is set for all connections. in case it is deselct 'for all connections' and enter it for HTTP only.
if you get access to the internet over a LAN you have to check proxy settings on the gateway computer.

in case of LAN inet access:
check that no other firewall is blocking the port 6346.

if you still can't connect to any of host not even after serveral minutes your ISP might be blocking port 6346.
goto the Tools menu in limewire and goto options. double click advanced and select port. enter 6347 as the port. hit ok.
