Be sure that you have a virus scanner and that it's sharp - this goes not only for programs, but also for any other kind of file.
Since you use a Mac, you're a bit safer than Windows users, but still better not get reckless. Scan every file you download and if you're in doubt, don't use it.
As a general tip: When you search, you cann append "dmg" to the search and then throw away everything which doesn't *end* with .dmg
That gets most of the spam.
Banning the spammers can also help a lot.
If nothing appears, you can try to search at some other time (maybe someone who has your program will be online then). If that also doesn't help, it's likely that noone out there shares your program. |
