Oh also keep in mind, if someone logs off from the network, unfortunately their files can still be found on the network for some minutes later. The network is slow to update in this regard. However in comparison is quite fast to add new shares to the information of the network. So if someone downloads a song, it takes less than a minute for the network to recognise this.

It may depend on the program & version of the program they are using. Yes if there are more hosts for a particular file they will tend to go for that I guess.

Unfortunately with music, if you adjust the details including the title using LW, it will affect the id3 tag information. Unlike other kinds of files where you can add descriptions or change/add to the title without it affecting the file itself. Such as video files. An exception was with LW 4 which had an advanced description tool which was very handy (I was greatly disappointed the devs did not re-incorporate this in LW5, & was main reason I was slow to upgrade to LW 5 permanently.) However LW 5 changed the way the information/description tool worked. And LW 5's info window directly affects id3 tag information for music. This would not be so bad if there were more options to add details but it's so limited, it's not a full id3 edit tool.

At least for videos, using the Information window, you can put the title in, & put more details after it without affecting the actual file's name. I mentioned that earlier. But any details you add will help it to be found in searches.
