hi! after i build the source code, and type the command:
java -jar phex.jar

i have the error:

You are using invalid version numbers.

Delete phexgui.xml...

thanks for your answer but, i dont have an xml file named: phexgui.xml, only:
in the directory /phex/build
build.xml
buildJava.xml
buildJWS.xml
javadoc.xml
makeRelease.xml
testSuite.xml

on may 22, i get the phex source and make the instructions from this url:

before that date, i can build and run phex source sucessfull, but on may 23 i delete all and download it again.. and dont works
...
i continue with the same error...

one question.. if i change the source code.
I need run this command:

cvs update -dPA

and later:

Step 2: Build Phex
From the phex/build directory, execute:
ant

This should be sufficient to build Phex.

Step 3: Run Phex
From the phex/output direcoty, execute:
java -jar phex.jar

or only the steps: 2 and 3?

You only need to use CVS update if you want to update your sources with the changes from the Phex team.

You should not execute the ant task 'makeRelease' (it modifies the version file), also please dont modfiy phex/resources/phex.properties and phex/resources/version.properties.
Modification of the version could lead to the problem you saw and also to other problems in case you like to update the Phex sources to our changes.

It would also be very nice if you would share your changes to the Phex code with us. Maybe they can be usefull to integrate into the main Phex release.
