Adding a photo to an email

Is there an easy straightforward method to enter a photo in an email I am trying to send?

I know how it's done when I can access the paperclip icon, but what to do when this icon does not show up?

Thanking you in advance for your help,

How about trying to drag and drop the image onto the email page you are writing. Does that work?
I drag and drop all kinds of attachments to emails.
I predominantly use MacOSX so I can't remember if it's possible for Windows users. It might also depend on email service, some have the drag & drop ability & some do not.

Alternatively, if you click the attachment icon it will usually open an Open File menu to choose the file. If the icon is not showing up it might be due to it being hidden. Use the scroll bar at bottom of page or if all you see is a ... on menu then click on that ... for more options.

I would try the way Lord of the rings describes...
Drag und Drop is a common way to pull a image into something...that is the same way for example when you want to resize an image...you open the page and then you open you data with the image and just pull it into the resize page...most pages have the function to understand this...maybe it is the same when you want to enter an image in an e-mail.
