Connection Problems Problems getting the LimeWire program connecting to the Gnutella network. (not about connecting to files, that is a Download/Upload Problems section issue.

Default connection problems, disconnects my entire internet connection

hi, i first downloaded limewire and it worked great, not problems, then after the frist time i exited the program then later tried reopening the program, it would not connect, it told me that i had no internet connection, it had disconnected me from the internet, i have a DSL modem and everytime i tried to connect id have to unplug my modem then plug it back in to get my connection back, i cannot figure out why and i have turned my firewalls off, i have Windows XP pro, please help

uninstall the old one in add/remove program inside of the control panel. after you've done this delete the files in the limewire folder which is usually in program files and the folder in documents and settings, named .limewire. than try downloading limewire again from the official site only. Some idiots make fake versions that may have abilities like the ones you describe. also make shure you have the latest version of java.

Try the tips here
Reduce the drag caused by LW
(you'll find that the Java version from the link in that post is now JRE 6u2)
