Not Good

I bought this program (Limewire Pro Bundle) last night after unsucessfully trying to reconnect with WinMX.

WinMX is not working at the moment either because their server has been shutdown or they were purchased by Limewire.

Limewire descepitively advertised themselves as a WinMx product if they did not buy WinMx out.

I've used WinMx for years without many problems. I have tried Limewire off and on (mostly off) due to it's unfriendly setup and poor connection to share files.

Ok, I bought this as I thought it was the New (Had to buy into) product of WinMx. Paid over $50 for it. Downloaded it, etc.

It worked for a while last night with little problems (kept asking me to buy Limewire Pro - I SHOULD HAVE ALREADY HAVE BOUGHT IT IDIOTS! - and disconnecting by itself - baloney!)

So, today same crap.

1. Slow connections

2. Repeat cutoffs

3. Buy Limewire Pro pop ups

4. There is no internet connection but still slowly downloading one or two files popups

5. Will not allow me to login to Members Area or Download NEWEST - LIMEWIRE PRO program and customer service in India or where ever the hell they are is off work.

I want my WinMx back! I want this to work!

Limewire still sucks after all these years with a new twist - impersonating WinMX on the Google search engine.

Join the ranks of the scammed my good person whoever you may be LimeWire basic is free and pro is $18.88. Just wanted to tell you that because your post sucks. By the way I used WinMx for many years also and still do occasionally and compared to LimeWire it really sucks.

Oh my post sucks huh?

Ok, what exactly about it sucks?

It was advertised as the new WinMx. I took a chance even when Limewire popped up as they could have merged or one might have bought the other.

Support - if you pay close to $60 bucks - it should have support.

Limewire cuts off, pop up bs continuous.

Their site does not allow login to the member section.

It is now downloading files - amazing, I just have to stand over it to make sure it does not cut off.

I might be calling the bank tomorrow to report this scam on my credit card.

WinMx still isn't working - does anyone know what is going on with it. Their website is still down so it might be dead for the longhaul - just want to be sure.

Oh and Gramps, thanks for the *** - istance. Time for the home already.

WinMx has been down for a few days man you were scammed LimeWire has nothing to do with WinMX the link below will take you to the official site.

What was wrong with WinMx the fastest DL speed I ever got with WinMX was 60kb I get 650+kb with LimeWire for one I would say that sucks. I did like MxMonitor for stopping leaches and the auto trade feature and the chat feature other than that it wasn't very good compared to others and MxMonitor wasn't relay part of WinMx.

And maybe you should not have been such an *** in your post without knowing what you were talking about

Better but still and attitude ...

Well ...

WinMx did not exit by itself.

WinMx did not have annoying pop ups.

WinMx you could check other's files.

WinMx you could run a monitor program to cut off leechers.

Speed - about the same as this program.

Does not have slow click a button and wait a minute for it to go to next control section.

Did not need a special Java plug in to run.

Limewire is a personal prefence I guess and so is WinMx. If you like the way one runs then you probably won't like the other.

What is this link ...

http://www.musicmembersarea.com/index.asp

I paid $18 or so for the Limewire and the rest of the bundle had some spyware program and a few other things - all told $56.

Whatever ... yep, certain ripoff.

Does anyone know if WinMx is coming back or was sued out of existance or technical problems or whether it is there but it is my machine that has some sort of error?

I do not prefer Gnut based p2p programs or maybe WinMx just navigates it better.

I also miss the old real Napster but ... those days are gone.

Slow but worked as it should.

Haven't seen that site before I don't know. Did you get the pro or the basic version of LimeWire. Did you receive a personal download page from LimeWire that gives you the Pro DL Which version 4.9.30 is the current version. If you didn't get pro and since you said you got no pro support I am guessing not. Contact your credit card company and tell them you have been scammed. You may be able to get your money back. And once you get LimeWire working properly you may like it better than WinMx I know I do and I used WinMx for a long time.

Yeah, Definite Scam

This outfit is based out of St Kitts out of some Armory Building there.

The address is ...

winmxdownload.net

... and it usually placed in the advertisement areas of Google.

They give you an Inferior version of basic Limewire, some spyware program, a video player, and a codecs breaking program.

They suck something awful.

They are not the real the LIMEWIRE. They aren't even the real WinMX.

They do not allow access to the real MEMBERS AREA of the REAL LIMEWIRE.

They have nothing to do with WinMx or Limewire.

It is pure SCAM! I am so pissed I am beside myself.
