keep loosing connection

i apologise in advance if this has been posted before.
I have a T1 connection i think well my internet runs at 1.1Mbps and i have a router that runs at 54Mbps,I have limewire installed on my laptop and when i am downloading files it downloads at around 20kbps but then it keeps dropping down to 1 or 2Kbps then i loose my connection and this just keeps repeating everytime i connect, I have looked at other threads and have configured my firewalls and even tried turning them of, but nothing seems to work. any help will be much appreciated

just a little FYI: T1's are 1.5Mbps... i have nothing else constructive to say :rolleyes: except..... you might want to look into the line quality.. you may be getting RF interference (noise).

So if 1.5mbps is called T1 what is 1.1mbps called.?

Also how do u test your line quality?

Please help as at the moment it takes forever to download files.
