Oklay, Ive been getting this pop up that says "one or more files may be corrupted.." yadda yadda. It said to copy the message and send it to "bugs@limewire.com" The problem is, that email doesnt exist. Ive tried completely un-installin limewire and reinstalling it. Ive tried the whole firewall methods. NOTHING!!! I only get one green bar and anytime I try to search, it says limewire is not connected.   Its been doing that for a while. Any help in detail would be appreciated. I wann upgrade to pro but not if Im going to get the same problem. Any 1 have suggestions..Thanx

Thr first thing to try would be to delete the Limewire preference folder as explained here (Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire)
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=36420

If that doesn't do the trick, you should get back here and give us some specs. about your system:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)?
10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.
11. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.
12. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

That you can't view the site means that your ISP is blocking the 6346 port, and since you said you could download for a short time, it implies that your ISP is randomly blocking ports used by P2P clients.

My advice, try to switch to a different port (in LW with your firewall configurated accordingly), such as 64049, or 47058. Something I did lately was to configurate the listening port to 1863, which is used by the MSN Messenger live to transfer files. I thought that ISPs might not block this port. For me it works,......
So, go to LW>Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewall configuration and change the listening port to one of the numbers mentioned above. Then configure your firewall accordingly.

Just to add a little bit here... another Ygnition user was having trouble recently & so I found this
http://www.dslreports.com/comments/2599

It's fairly recent & if you read down the thread a bit, suggests that Ygnition are traffic shaping. If they only apply this at certain times of day (some ISPs do), it would explain why you had a good connection for a while & then back to nothing:(

something new

Okay, sorry about all the questons. I tried switching listening ports and did the whole thing where you type in 127.0.0.1 as the isp. But when I hjit okay, a message pops up saying "to enable internet connection sharing a connection must be selected for the private network. Please select a connection from the list of available connections." I hit okay, and nothing. What list of available connections are they talking about??
