~~~ My limewire starts downloading then stops! ~~~
hi,
i have a problem my limewire pro starts to download the files at its normal speed for about 5 minutes and then the download speed peaks and begins to drop rapidly. The speed then reaches 0 kb/s and it stays like that and doesn't move. In this time all the files now have 10 sources it is downloading from but it is at 0 kb/s. Please can you tell me what i need to do and if you need my to give you any more information
Have you ever been able to download properly? Download a file from here & see what happens to the speed
Is your LW connection dropping off too?
Do you see the firewall icon (brick wall)?
Who is your ISP?
What happened when you downloaded a magnetmix file?
Who is your ISP (internet service provider)?
Has the brick wall always been there?
dunno what a magnetmix file is, but i have downloaded music, movies, progams, pictures everything there is. BT is my ISP...dunno about the brick wall, but when i open two limewires, the brick wall is on one of them and not on the other. The one with no brick wall download, but still at about 5kb/s very slow.......
Click on the link above & you can try downloading a magnetmix file :bangh:
You're probably getting slow downloads due to your ISP. BT is known to shape p2p bandwidth. Check the posts below. If you use the forum search, you'll probably find more info.
yes! thank god...for a while i thought i was the only person experiencing this issue. i dont have limewire pro, money is a little tight right now, so i use basic. but here yesterday, i was downloading with a turbo charged connection at 10 downloads with 1,122KBpS...(fastest i've seen yet on my connection) then it seemed like as soon it peaked, everything went to crap. my DL speed bottomed out and the only way to get my limewire to download anything now is to laboriously exit, and reopen over and over to keep any sort of DL speed up. otherwise as soon as i hit the later on the upgrade tab my DL speed starts its downward spiral of death. i went to speedtest and pingtest.net, i have a class A connection on both sites. i can connect both of my xbox 360s to the same network and have zero issues, plus my buddie brought his laptop over and his limewire basic has zero probs....idk what to do, and there isnt a thread for this issue on the limewire FAQ page.
