| Don't have 3 firewalls running at once - you won't be more protected, the firewalls will just conflict with each other. Choose 1, configure it to allow LW & turn off the other 2. Once you've done that, restart LW. Try to find the model of your Netgear router. If no model's showing on top of the router, turn it upside down & have a look underneath. Have you been through all of the fixes in this thread? If LW Will Not Connect

| Windows is allowing it, as is McAfee and ZoneAlarm. I shutdown ZoneAlarm and my Windows Firewall. It still doesn't work. The most bars I've gotten since I got the upgrade was 1. It doesn't go any farther then that. I've tried looking for the two preference folders, I only have 1. Same with replacing the Gnutella.net file. |

| Same problem here. Can't connect after upgrading. Have always been able to get on before upgrading to this version. I have ZoneAlarm and it is configured to allow Limewire through. Windows XP, 1 gig of ram. It continually says "you are currently connecting to the network". It doesn't change. Nothing has changed on my computer except for upgrading the software. ***EDIT*** I fixed my problem by deleting my preferences folder '.limewire' and then resetting my preferences. Hope this helps. | search for the .limewire folder. then delete it. if you have accompanying 'shared' and 'incomplete' folder, anything that's associated with LW, delete them too. uninstall the current LW in ur computer, reinstall and configure the location/destination of ur shared and saved folder. it should be able to work just fine. it worked for me ;-) Hope this helps. Thanks alot to Thunderess for the brilliant tip |

| Hi folks, I have always had Limewire, and I just purchased a new computer, with the Vista platform. I installed Limewire, and now nothing happens. What I mean: is that I can enter into limewire and do a search, but I do not get any responses from the search. I tried doing: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ and it says my test worked... I am not running a firewall... so I m totally stumped. Can you help? Thanks, FP ![]() |
