Hi everyone. I am using windows and recently updated my limewire and now it doesn't work. I click on the program file, the first bit comes up (saying limewire with the spiderman looking picky) for about 5 seconds and then disappears. And then nothing. Its not even in the task manager. I have tried reinstalling it 3 times, even reinstalled java as that's what limewire's website suggested. Nothing has worked. If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.

Thank you

2 questions:

I downloaded basic... Then I gave cc info for free pro try. When I try to download pro I get message that I already have used a free trial of pro and it will not down load. I had a paid subscripton 7 or 8 years ago. I have my new pro activation number.

Basic does not work at all. I get no green bars. I am connected inside a motel. Is it possible they have you blocked?

I've been using LW basic for several years on my MacPro and have never employed a firewall.

As far as I know, I've not experienced any sinister effects.

1. How necessary is firewall protection for me, especially if I switch to LW Pro and increase connections? If yes, is the osx firewall sufficient?

2. When I choose to "browse files" of a host, there is a name for the host that appears. What name do I broadcast when someone browses my shared files and is it under my control?

Thanks

I updated my Limewire that had been working great this morning. My older version was deleted and now when I try to download it again keeps coming back and saying corrupted file.

I have cleaned out the cache, searched all limewire and deleted and still can not download. I only have the basic version if that matters
