Hey cm, how're you doing?:p

I don't know what's the problem with connections. A couple of people had lost FW rules within McAfee so I thought it might be a Mcafee update gone wrong but don't think so now. A couple of people had the prob start after IE7 & thought it might be something to do with that but not everyone's updated so who knows?

Guess someone will figure it out eventually.

The problem is that the Gnutella.net bundled in FrostWire 4.10 (containing the hosts caches to connect) are too old to let you connect.

Go in the FrostWire preferences folder. Open Gnutella.net with a text editor. Remove all the lines.

Paste in there those:

krill.shacknet.nu:20095,,1162480628374,,,en,1
uhc.udp-host-cache.com:9999,,1162480630012,,,en,0
kisama.ath.cx:8080,,1162480628074,,,en,1
uhc3.limewire.com:51180,,1162480626905,,,en,0
uhc2.limewire.com:20181,,1162480626164,,,en,0
gwc.jooz.net:8010,,1162480627623,,,en,0

Save the file while FW is closed. Start FW and wait a bit it should now connect.

Issues will be solved soon

We're preparing a new release as we speak, so hold on tight and have a little patience, soon we'll be releasing a new version of frostwire that will solve the connection issues.

It sounds like it only applies to those who exclusively use FrostWire. AFAIK this issue hasn't affected those who use both FW & LW. Perhaps due to the initial sharing of prefs folder in the initial versions.

except mine runs fine
i use FW ONLY

and my bro swiched from bearshre i think to fw
in last 3 weeks

since i buit my computer it was a fresh install

AFAIK ? what this meen

Lord of the Rings November 6th, 2006 01:57 PM

My assumption was incorrect then. AFAIK = as far as I know

There is no link between having LW installed and FW getting connections. However you can take your Gnutella.net from LW and use it in FW!
