Directory & Other Problems

It would be helpful to show directions for how to use the Directories, what they should read, and how to get completed downloads to move to the library.

I've set the Incomplete Directory to "shared files\Phex2.8.4.93\all users\videos"
& the Completed Directory to "shared files\Phex2.8.4.93\all users\my videos
Is that correct? And what's the difference between the prompt to "set folder" as opposed to the "apply" and "ok" at the bottom of the page?

Also in the downloads option when I check the box: "Auto remove completed downloads" they don't move to the library. They disappear.

Thanks

Hi The "set folder" button, when clicked will allow you to browse your computer to select the folder. When chosen. click select, Apply .. then OK will close the options window.

You need to Go to the Phex Library tab, click add folder, browse for your completed Directory and click open and the folder will then be shared. but you then need to rescan or restart phex for the file to be shared.

If the folder is not shared the downloads will remain in your completed directory, but not appear in the Library.

afaik you can set your incomplete and complete directories wherever you like, BUT Do not put them in your Phex application folder or your Phex insstallation folder.

I hope this helps:)

Thank you, Only A Hobo

Can you tell me exactly what the two lines should read in the following dialog box?:
Settings/Options/Directories/Download Folders

Incomplete c:\ ?what goes here?
Completed c:\ ?and what goes here?
When I fill in those 2 lines, do I then click on "Apply" and "OK" at the bottom of the box?

Yes, click on either one of them to save your changes in the options dialog.

You can type in the path to the files, but it is much easier, and free of the possibility of making a mistake, to browse for the fiolder, press select and the exact path will be entered in the box.

I'm guessing it will say for your complete folder c:\shared files\Phex2.8.4.93\all users\my videos but I use a Mac and it may not read quite that... just browse for the folder and you will not have a problem.

When the Boxes are filled. click Apply and then OK .. as you said. I hope that makes sense:)

Directories

Once again, thank you Only a Hobo.

I think I got it now. Many hits and many misses, but it seems to be working.

I've also managed to add the right folders to the Library to get my downloads into them.
