Phex has stopped working for me...

...since I downloaded an update it goes through the motions but never finds any files...
What should I do?

pixie2pieces July 15th, 2006 10:28 AM

...oh and I should explain. I am an idiot when it comes to technical terms... if you can help, could you make it ''idiot proof''

Many thanks.

Which system do you use (windows, linux, maxosx, ...)?

pixie2pieces July 16th, 2006 03:04 PM

Windows XP.

arne_bab July 17th, 2006 01:14 AM

did you also update XP?

As a test, try to the phex config-folder (contains phex.cfg), so phex doesn't find it and check, if it works better then.

AaronWalkhouse July 17th, 2006 01:23 AM

Try to rename it?

arne_bab July 17th, 2006 11:39 AM

uh... yes *ducks* :)

I should lose verbs that carelessly ;)
sorry...

pixie2pieces July 17th, 2006 01:27 PM

Erm....

*blank look*

No I didn't update XP

pixie2pieces August 2nd, 2006 11:21 AM

I've gone off Phex now and have gone to LimeWire, which actually seems to work.

arne_bab August 3rd, 2006 04:03 AM

I wish you good luck there.

Sadly we couldn't find out, why Phex didn't work on your configuration, but maybe a later version of Phex will work again, and we'd certainly be glad, if you'd give it a second try in a few months. Maybe we'll have spotted the bug then.

PS: Sorry if I got too far into technicalities... can be carried away at times :)
