I was wondering which programs get people arrested more. And If they all get you arrested the same amount, how can i prevent myself from being arrested for meirly just downloading shared files with people around the world.

As far as I know nobody has ever been arrested. Copyright infringement is a civil matter, not
a criminal one. Nobody has even been sued for merely downloading either. Even for uploading,
the odds of getting struck by lightning are far higher.

If you don't share the latest movies or music, and stay away from software and porn, you're
practically bulletproof.

Choice of software has little bearing other than that gnutella doesn't force you to share while
downloading, so any gnutella servent with partial file sharing turned off is a bit safer than
using any bittorrent or edonkey software.

Donald, Millions of people use Some type of P2P program everyday and I don't here to much about people getting arrested. Usually it's in the form of fines and some can be very costly but if you are fairly smart about how you play the game you shouldn't have to much to be concerned about.

If you don't want to come up on anyones radar then the safest thing to do is to not share your files. Now with that being said, if everyone stopped sharing, well you now that would defeat the purpose.
