Oops, sorry. I was responding to a different person's question. I had the same problem as you did. This new Limewire version inextricably put all the new files in your preferences folder.Try to re-direct your downloads using the Options menu in limewire. Hope this helps.

redirect it where?

Re-direct to your music player's library if you want, then include that location in the directory of files you"d like to share.

Another option might be to index evrything on your mac using the finder. (If you haven't done this already, be prepared for several hours of waiting around. I suggest you schedule it for overnight). Then, using the finder, locate where LW has placed all your music files, and drag them to whatever folder you want.

Please let me know if this helps. Good luck.

Christine:

In re-reading your original post, it occurred to me that LW may not be downloading the file at all, or the file is corrupt, or there's a bug in LW or even a system conflict, rather than re-directing it as I first thought. So it's very possible that if you do everything I just suggested, it still may not do you any good. I have no idea what to do about any of those problems. I'm very sorry.

Hello, Christine. LimeWire creates an Incomplete folder in the same folder as your selected download folder. If you've moved or renamed the download folder, it might have got confused. Or it might have got confused for no reason at all. Try reselecting your downloads folder (Tools menu, Options). If you're using the latest version, you can't quit with Apple + Q, but in earlier versions you could, and if you did, any recent settings you had made were lost. So always quit with the Close command, even if you have the option.

About searching with Sherlock; you don't have to index volumes to search for files, only to search for the contents of files.

I hope you get it sorted out.

qemo (aka MacGee).
