These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. Bans cannot be removed by the moderators and probably won't be removed by the administration. The Rules 1. Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form. Topics discussing techniques for violating these laws and messages containing locations of web sites or other servers hosting illegal content will be silently removed. Multiple offenses will result in consequences. 2. Spamming and excessive advertising will not be tolerated. 3. There will be no excessive use of profanity in any forum. 4. There will be no racial, ethnic, or gender based insults, or any other personal attacks. 5. Pictures may be attached to posts and signatures if they are not sexually explicit or offensive. 6. Remember to post in the correct forum. Take your time to look at other threads and see where your post will go. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. 7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. 10. Posts should have descriptive subjects. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. 12. Signatures may be used as long as they are not offensive or sexually explicit. 13. Failure to show that you have read the forum rules may result in forum rules breach infraction points or warnings awarded against you which may later total up to an automatic temporary or permanent ban. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues. Violation of any of these rules will bring consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis. Thank You! Thanks for taking the time to read these forum guidelines. We hope your visit is helpful and mutually beneficial to the entire community. |

| I already read them. He makes no better a spokesman than I would. Some of the stuff you've posted at various sites was complete fabrication though. You know ZP doesn't "sell IP's", nor would there be a legitimate market for them. Even with the RIAA. You've seen from experience that nothing of a nature possible to incriminate a member is allowed to stand. It's removed and the member is usually pm'ed as to why that sort of post is not allowed. The "ZP was hacked" is no stronger an argument. I could link a pic in my sig here and tell you every person who looked at one of my posts. Not to mention that if ZP was hacked, who the hell is going to jump up and down and say "hey it was me?" Nobody, because it's an embarrassment to try to kill off any other factor that is trying to further p2p. Some people associated with ES5 feel that ZP has tried to harm them, but as I know that you've probably read most of ZP's ES5 threads, you already know that it is our membership in general that got tired of the constant promotion. The mods as a general rule attempt to just keep people from openly flaming each other. So as a result, many ES5 announcements were simply closed rather than see people go 20 rounds again. Closed, not removed, so interested members could still see any improvements that ES5 had made. "ZP is connected to DRM". Definitely your best argument, and the only one based in fact. I can think of few people in p2p that didn't read all about that around a year ago. However, since that time Chris Hedgecock has left the DRM firm he was a force at, and has become involved in another e-based business that monitors people's website for them. You've seen the link on the ZP homepage. You're argument for that has thus far been that company is hired by the DRM company that Chris left to keep tabs on the former company's site. That part of the argument is weak, as most people wouldn't care if they monitored the FBI's site to make sure it was still up and properly working. Now, this "Jorge is connected to DRM" is potentially more disturbing to me. I've seen the same guy post it a couple of times now. As you pointed out. However he is the only person I've ever seen make reference to the idea. Jorge says he doesn't, and given the fact that he is the one that has been involved in p2p for years holds more weight for me. At the end of the day though, I couldn't really care if my mother was involved in DRM. I will get the files I want, and luckily I don't center on the porn industry, which seems to be the only group currently using the brand of DRM that Chris Hedgecock's former company dealt in. Believe it or not, I don't care if people try to copy-protect their stuff, the chase is half the game to me. They have as much right to attempt to protect it as I have to take it, don't they? "ZP has no app of their own." Exactly. That is what allows the mods and members to feel that any app can be discussed. We have no affiliation to any program, and every app is treated equally. You really have been flogging a dead horse. ZP's "anti-fan-boy" rules have been in effect for quite awhile, long before ES5 hit the scene. Ironically, it was Shareaza that had many users removed from ZP for excessive advertisement. If you look though, you can see that Shareaza is still a widely respected app on our board. Why? They have been letting the program do the talking. I don't know what time you have, but it's late here. We can butt heads tomorrow if you choose. ---------------------------------------- It really is nice to see you Morgwen. Your weekly slug-fests with Seph were probably more enjoyable for the rest of us than for either of you, but I gained a deep respect for both of you two's love of Gnutella. I haven't tried shareaza for about 2 months though, partly due to your improvements. Getting files at a million miles per hour frustrated me too much when the sources all turned to e-mule and dropped to @ 2kb/s. That feature can be turned off no?

I know because I sat at Chrish's house while he tried to get the server back up and watched him and Jorge bicker on the cell. That's fact. "ZP is connected to DRM". Their Customers are company's like EMI Music and BuyMusic and The Recording Pool and who know's who else. Those are music companies. They actually got OUT of the porn business. |
