Default Magnet link handler???

When starting limewire i am asked whether i want to make it my default magnet link handler. What does this mean because im clueless, does it hav summin to do with fact that i hav shareaza installed aswell? Plz help ppl

It does yes. If you change it to LW then probably next time you open Raza it will also ask you to change it back. lol :D It just means that if you receive a magnet link, the default program for magnets will downld it. An example of magnet links is here: http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml
When you select downld, LW or Raza will open & start downlding the file.

You can create your own magnet links & send them to friends that also have gnutella programs. See How to use Magnet Links In fact, magnet links is sometimes better than direct connect. It's probably easier.

The easiest way is to disable/uninstall all other p2p programs & only run LW. lol :D

I'm glad you said that mLord. Do I need anything else besides Limewire?
In other words it seems to me that with Lime I can only access other Lime users.
Or can when I search with Lime does it access other Gunitella users?

wondering why January 5th, 2007 01:42 PM

Yes it does...you connect to the whole Gnutella network...:rolleyes_2:

Great, thanks. Is that the definition of "client". If not what does client mean? Thanks again.

These are typical Gnutella network clients: LimeWire, FrostWire, Phex, BearShare, Gnucleus, Morpheus, etc.

Gnutella network is described here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnutella

As I understand it. A "client" is a ultrapeer which allows faster or more efficient access among peers.
