finally gave up and trying again from the start; DVD burning?

I have tried and tried to burn a DVD and be able to play it on my DVD player. So I deleted the movie I down loaded and I am going to start from fresh. If anyone can give me a step by step (not good on the computer) on from down loading the right one to burning it so I can watch it in any DVD player. I want to down load Garfield the movie.
But which one do I look for to download? I have VERO, Nero and Roxio on my computer but can not figure out anything.
I am completely lost someone please help me. I need easy very detailed information
Thank you!!:)

Hi Cbbutler2,
:( I am having the exact same problem except I'm trying to burn music videos. I've tried everything I can think of and did a lot of searching on this site and posted but nobody ever replied. If you hear anything please let me know, and I will do the same.

I don't know much about the DVD side of things but I have used DVD Santa without a problem! It's very easy to use (birdy-proof). If you're interested, you can download it here

There's a free trial version but it will leave an ad at the top of the screen.

Might I suggest doing CD data burns? Might be easier than DVD burns.

Hey Sphinx,
Does that usually work ok? I once had somebody tell me trying to put dvds onto a cd wasn't the best way to do it? If it will work though, I'm willing to give it a shot. I just want them to play on my dvd player. So, would I have to convert the music videos using something like Divx? Is there a certain way when I download the videos that I need to save them such as avi, mpeg etc...? And what would you suggest using them to burn them, dvd decrypter or nero?

Thanks for your help, look forward to your reply :)

Purely FYI, there are dvd players on the market now that can play both mpeg 4 & divx files. I've tried it out myself. It saves the whole conversion process. In my case I simply burnt as a data dvd. And these players are not necessarily expensive. Mine cost me $105 AUD ($77 US) about 7-8 months ago.

lilshann,

I use Nero 6 and do data burns instead of DVD, I do CD burning. I save money and space by data CD burns to disks. I can put more data on a single 700meg disk that way, usually music. I dont movie burn though. I did one and it cameout just fine using Nero 6 express data burn. I put an entire movie on one disk. ;)
