I would like to ask if there is a way to insert a new item in the Genre Search.

I don't think it is possible. At least not in a way that would be very productive. You could try searching for the Genre in the Title search, but you will get a lot of unrelated search results.

I was wanting to know if I wanted to search for african american movies, what would I type in?

You can do a search at IMDb.com (try 'african-american movies', or 'black movies') and you will get some movie titles that way. You can then use LW to search for the titles, or look for them on torrent sites.
There is a documentary titled, "The 100 Best Black Movies (Ever)", that was released in '07 and directed by Matthew Hensley.
