dedicated download sites for limewire/gnutella

Hi

I used to use edonkey2000 client untill they recently got shut down.
Since then I have d/l and tried "Ares" and now "Limewire." My question is: Are there any websites ie; shareprovider/sharevirus...etc.etc that I can download from and have the d/loads automatically transfered to (Limewire/Ares) clients like edonkey2000 used to do?...:imwaiting:

Or can you only search and d/l from within each of the clients?...

Dedicated to the gnutella network (which Limewire connects to) No

There is BitziWeb, but it is being used by several networks and clients, so some work, others do not

To get to bitzi from Limewire right-click a searchresult choose advanced and then Lookup File with Bitzi

Alternative is to go through your browser directly

The thing in there about the magnet links being to old, is only in some cases.

Hi sleepless...:)

Thanks for your swift reply, the reason I ask is that I've been offline for a couple of months and only just got back to find my edonkey client had shut down, I don't know if you are familiar with the donkey client, but you could search within it as you do with "Ares" and "Limewire" but also you could d/l from web sites such as shareprovider...sharevirus.etc.etc with the added value that they would be vetted for viruses and also they where more informative than just searching from within the "Ares" and "limewire" clients that I have now.

I found "Ares" to be quite fast on the d/l speeds but the first 2 .avi's I d/l weren't what they said they were. And the first 2 files I d/l with "Limewire"....mp3 and .wma... And the .wma file was a virus...:yikes:

So I suppose I need to know what p2p client will let you do as I've said?

Limewire will be releasing a new Limewire in a while that lets you connect to and download torrents as well.

Until then I personally use Both Limewire for single files and Azureus for torrents

Using Limewire I can think of two threads (Guides) that should quickly help yu get into using Limewire well

1. Viruses on network you should be aware of!! :) (Link)

2. How to find music :) (Link) applies to other stuff as well. And it works well (made it myself ;))

and maybe 3 as well :)

A few things to consider while configuring Limewire for optimal performance... :) (Link) Just the first few posts

"Thanks Sleepless"
It took a few hours to get through, but well worth the read.
