SEARCH help

I can't seem to search videos. if i search audio or programs i get as much or little as i narrow the search to. but when i try videos no matter how many options i fill in or leave blank i get much of the same listings. and these searches generate everything from Teen sex and A Night with Paris to Benchwarmers or The Invincibles. in fact, it appears to generate the same listings no matter what.
everything appears to return to blanks for each new search.i've closed and reopened. even uninstalled and installed the free version and still the same thing. I've used other share proggies so not sure whát i'm doing wrong this time.
please..... help me limit my video searches to what i want.

Here's a good thread for filtering your results:

Filtering porn & spam

Good Luck

thank you. while that has helped filter the porn and spam that hasn't changed my search results. i am still getting lots of movies that have nothing to do with the options i put in to search for (stars name or studio or a certain rating let alone a combination). it's as if as soon as i choose DVD movie i've opened the search up again. and those same movies coming up over and over are as if i'm searching the same pool.
that's an excellent link. thanks for replying.

My pleasure!

I don't think you can get much use out of the advanced search options. Try this: after you search for a video, let your cursor hover over a title. A window will pop up with the title and will often contain other information. This additional information is what is needed for advanced searching (I think). You will often see type, height, and width, but you will not usually see the categories that you have mentioned (stars, rating, etc.)

Are you looking for specific movies? If so, just put the movie title in the title box and search. You can also try just searching part of the name (if several words).

If you are looking for movies with certain actors, try typing the actors' name in the title box and search.

Hope this helps :rolleyes_2:

thanks but i don't think you understand. i've been using kazaa, napster, etc for years so i think i understand the basics of options, filters and search boxes. i also understand porn filtering. when i search limewire for audio i get what i search for. same with programs.
BUT, when i search videos it is as if my search is filled with wildcards.
EX: i put in **** for title. Search gets me a list me a list of about a hundred that MIGHT include 1 or 2 of the ****** movie as well as a list that includes ***, ***, ***, ***,
So, i put in ****(title) *****(studio) G(rating)DVD(type)2006(year) SEARCH gets me about the same listing of mixed movies. i can't see how all these movies could possibly fill ALL my search options.
i have noticed that if i do not chose dvd as type option it narrows the selection a bit better.
as i said, it's as if my Video search is full of hidden wildcards and my target is the same source no matter what my search--as if no matter what i put in i'm going to get a listing of the same directory.
thanks for all the help. it's been really frustrating.
