What is Beta ?

I've recently installed LW 4.13 Beta. Can anyone tell me what the 'Beta' bit is all about ? Is there ANOTHER version of LW 4.13 WITHOUT Beta ? And if so, what's the difference ?

A Beta version is still being tested. Once it's considered stable, it'll be officially released.

The latest stable version of LW is 4.12.6. 4.13.0 is a Beta only.

Betas are numbered with odd numbers & official released even numbers. eg: 4.10 official release, 4.11 beta, 4.12 official release. Hopefully Verdyp can put this into perspective here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showpo...29&postcount=4

Uh ... took me so long to find Verdyp's post. lol :D

Is 4.13 safe to use ?

Thanks for the replies. So then, is LW 4.13 OK to use in the meantime. Will search results yield as normal ?

There may be the odd bug, but it should be good as 4.12 if not a little better. It does have extra implementations as you're probably aware; http://www.limewire.com/english/cont..._history.shtml. I use the beta full-time now & am quite happy with it.
