Default new 2 LW quick question

i'm new to limewire. before i even thought about downloading it i went on some of the forums to check the stuff about legality and viruses and stuff. one thing it said was to stay away from files ending in .exe. so when i start downloading limewire, what do i see? the screen asks "do you want to run or save limewire.exe?" is that what its supposed to be?

If it's during the installation process it's safe. After all, you are downloading the installer or downloading the program files during the installation process. I generally recommend downloading the offline installer so you're not installing over the net, which can cause problems. LW recommends the online installer because it's easier for their site, but as suggested by me, is not the best technique for installing. Same principle applies to Java.

Of course. You will need to install Java also which should be done first, get the offline java installer; Download Java software from Sun Microsystems which is 13.92 MB download.

After installing Java, then LW, then set up your options. You will also need to make clearance on your xp/vista firewall to allow LW full access; User Cant Connect - LimeWire
