Limewire connection probs

Used Limeware for ages. This week connection probs. I have checked all my firewall software and checked to ensure Limewire Program 'allowed'. Have uninstalled and installed Limewire and checked manual and other similar FAQs. I'm only get a small green bar on connectivity and I don't know what else to do. Can anyone help please? Thank you:confused:

thank you

Hi thanks for your help. I have tried all the fixes (stickies) that I can do (understand how to do). I have checked firewall status. Even when I remove it the icon still appears in bottom left of LW screen. The connecting icon still says 'connecting' but only smallest bar is green. I have closed down PC and re-booted. It's strange because it has only just happened this last week. Never had this problem before and haven't changed anything else in terms ISP or secuity software. Do you think I am missing an obvious thing? I'm not computer literate, just a press and go sort of person, so I am struggling now...:laugh_2:

So you tried deleting your LW preferences folder, replacing the gnutella file, disabling the performance & speed options, removing your incomplete files, etc. ?

I can only guess what your problem is .. since you haven't told me whether you are using a mac, linux or windows 98/2k/vista or DOS machine, lol. I have found out the isp you came to the forums with is CABLE & WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICES GMBH from UK. I haven't heard any reports about them. But am aware that many ISP's in UK are changing to anti p2p sharing tactics by either blocking them or slowing them down with low p2p bandwidth shaper filters. Another UK ISP started shaping p2p bandwidth less than 2 weeks ago.

I have removed old LW folders and checked all firewall status i haven't done anything with Gnutella though or perf/speed options. Would you be able to explain what I need to do with these. I have Windows Vista. Thank you
