Thankyou in advance.

4.16. is good enough for me....thankyou.

I tried installing my archived version 4.16.6 and I get zero connections and a legal notice.
So I switched to FrostWire v4.21.1, which works just fine.

Old versions of LimeWire from 2001 to 2010 are available from OldApps:

5.5.10 is the latest version that still works:

You would probably need to update your Gnutella.net file for LW 4.16.
My LW 4.16 often needs a fresh Gnutella.net file to help it connect, but it does connect. And still brings up my favorite rare kind of files in search results.
On LW 4.16 just click on the white area to the side of the legal notice & it vanishes.

The bootstrap servers have been shut down, so all versions of LimeWire will require a gnutella.net file from now on. You can download a fresh gnutella.net file here:

That did the trick. :) LW v5.5.10 up and running for now just fine. Thanks much.

I hate to be dense, but what do I do with the Gnuella.net file to get version 5.5.10 to work? Do I just take one line, copy it, & put it in somewhere on v.5.5.10? Anything you can do to straighten me out would be much appreciated. Mark

Birdy explains how in her first paragraph / quote here If LW 5 Will Not Connect :) ie: how to replace the Gnutella.net file.

LW 5.5.10 will not connect without a fresh gnutella.net file. It may look complicated initially, but once you've done it once, you will realise the process was not so hard.

Thanks, will do.

LW v. 5.5.10 from Oldapps.com
Old Version of Limewire 5.5.10 Download - OldApps.com
Legit?
thanks, xx

OldApps seems to be OK in my experience.

If you're looking for LW versions then check out the links below...

Unless you specifically want LW 5.5.10, you might find LW Pirate Edition better: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/gettin...e-edition.html

And if you're looking for older versions then there are many listed here: LW installers for Windows
Lots of info in the link above, including links to a connect fix. Even if you get your version of LW from OldApps, chances are you'll need to use the connect fix to get things going.
