Error 10065

I'm using v 0.9.9 on a Win98 machine with a PII 233, 128M, a 56K modem, and plenty of harddrive space. I have always had a reliable connection to the Internet.

Since I've been using this version of Gnotella, my connection has become unstable. It hangs up usually after about 20-40 minutes. I've discovered there may be some corrolation to the number of hosts I allow. If it's over 3-4, there's certainly a hang-up soon.

What's actually annoying, however, is that Gnotella gives me a 10065 Error for each host connected, saying the connection to that host has been lost. Then it performs an illegal operation, and makes the OS unstable (including such things as changing the icons in the window's taskbar to look like Gnotella's, and occassionally freezing the system).

So, I'm trying to keep the host number low. It didn't happen to the previous version (I'm not sure what version it was; I'd had it since last summer). But with my slower connection, I used to like to keep the host number high while I searched, then dropped it down when I downloaded. I'm assuming this is something happening within Gnotella itself, but I could be mistaken, I suppose, if someone has another idea of what might be happening.

Overall, though, Shaun, if you're reading this post, the program is excellent, and you've done an amazing job. In particular, the client interface is better, I believe, and I like what you've done with all those little things, like search interfaces and making it easier for newbies to use.

thanks,
Aaron
