uploading problems I am having an uploading problem. I have 2.2Gb of MP3's that are listed as shared but it seems that every time somebody tries to upload one from me, it fails. Any suggestions (I feel like I am freeloading). |
same problem Exact same thing happens to me. It starts sending VERY slow (I'm on a LAN using DSL), and eventually I either get "Remotely Canceled" or "Host Unreachable". Haven't downloaded anything yet, so I'm not sure how that is affected. I am behind a firewall, and I do have it checked in firewall options. I'm set up as a regular node under "My Network Model". My system is Win98SE and the firewall and router are both Macs if that makes any difference. Cheers, John |
With multi-source downloading it seems people are not finishing uploads from you, but in reality they are downloading multiple pieces of the file from multiple people. |
This is a problem, how can Gnucleus know when a download is complete? Are you now going to show partials? How do you add it up if one part is missing? Does that count as a full download? You can't except if you share original files all the time. So this feature is dead. So just put your files there and hope you are helping. |
I'm not sure what you mean in your post, uploads and downloads are different things. Downloads complete when you have the entire file, if the file is not complete it is a partial. If parts are missing, those parts are downloaded. You share files and people download them from you're computer, sometimes they only download parts of the file because thats all they need. |
