Default still can't connect!!!

i'm using version 2.3.0 and all i get is the host tab trying to connect to the public.bearshare.net host (though i did add more) and after 10 seconds it just times out and tries again. this is annoying because it used to work. is it something wrong on my side?

Hi!

Are you running a firewall?

Bearshare needs server rights and uses the port 6346!

It sounds that bearshare is blocked by it!

I know this is old but You don't need to do this anymore and Bearshare works just fine if you configure your firewalls to allow TCP and UDP on 6346 to allow bearshare

here is the updated Bearshare:
http://download.bearshare.com/BS463.exe

and here is a firewall guide to help you learn what you need to do to configure your firewall.

Default Connecting to LimeWire Pro

I can relate. I just subscribed to LimeWire Pro and have yet been able to connect. I have added Gnutella (twice - TCP & UDP) with an IP adddress of 127.0.0.1 and external & internal ports to 6346. I still cannot connect. I contacted LimeWire twice and received no reply. I had no connection problems with the older version of LimeWire and was able to share tunes. Any chance I can go back to the no-cost LimeWire version?

Unhappy what is this "follow the router set up and u will be able to connect???

IN the Post that is what it says? I have free version of Limewire , after I installed Windows Live ONe Care, and uninstalled Norton, my Lime wire has not worked at all, so I reversed the whole thing, and now it still won't work???I can not get ANY file sharing to work...what is going on...I download it , it unpacks and on the final window w/a check mark in it says"run limewire" absolutely nothing happens, it seems like I am blocked by someone or something,,I have sat here for months with various not just limewire pgms and NONE will work, I am at wits end and on a crying jag of frustration

HELP for Gods sake help

Does that mean just sharing programs or any program at all?

Here's a test. Since you are here in the BearShare forums try BearShare.
It is different enough from LimeWire that it just might work for you.

BearShare Lite 5.1.0.27

If this Lite version works and you want to upgrade to the powerful beta
version that came out just before, I'll help you set it up. The difference is
that the beta can download files faster and can be forced into ultrapeer mode,
which raises your searching connections from 2 to 70.

If it doesn't work you do have a serious problem, and we'll have to try some diagnostics.
