Hi i am new to this and not very computer literate. so everything will have to be explained like i am a 5 year old.

i have been using bearshare for a while but over the weekend it suddnly lost connection so i uninstalled and reinstalled but still the first red light keeps flashing. Can you help??

I think Blueyonder is blocking it. Try other P2P sharing software and
Blueyonder's newsgroup server for awhile until they drop their blockade.

do you know of any free ones (similar to Bearshare) that i can used to download software as well as the usual

There's a fairly comprehensive list of software at:

Remember, BearShare and Limewire use the gnutella network, the one
that is being blocked right now.
