hi -
does it matter where you extract the connect.zip file to ? my bearshare is installed on G:\ not C:\

the connect.txt file goes in a specific place in the BearShare Test directory in program files...the db folder if I remember correctly....doesn't matter where you extract it to, but it must be placed in that location to do anything

It's always the /db/ folder inside the one where BearShare was installed.

still having troubles

I have downloaded and extracted the connect.zip files to the Bearshare db, but still when I load BearShare and type in a file to search, my search says "Queued - stablizing connections." After a minute or so, I get an error message that says that I am not able to connect to the gnutella network.

Just to make sure - are there only TWO files in the connect.zip file? I ask because I currently only have available the evaluation version for WinZip and am seeing two files after unzipping... I'm wondering if that makes a difference or if I need the full version.

I also just moved into a new apartment and am wondering if it is possibly some sort of network administration block on my computer.

I've used BearShare for years and have never had a problem until right now. I'd appreciate any help, thanks.

Try a fresher one: http://www3.telus.net/Aaron_Walkhouse/connect.zip

got the same result -said "connections stabilizing" for a minute or so, and then I got a message saying I can't connect to the gnutella network. Is there something else I could try?
