Default Simple fix worked for me - thanks aaron

Hello

I use a bearshare pro 5.2.0 - It has worked fine for me for years. A week ago something went boom and it would not connect. I read Aaron's suggestion in the following article: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/host-c...tml#post293970

All i did was simply replace the connect.txt and it works great now.
The file can be found in the link above. Thanks Aaron. Hope this fix works for anyone else having problems.

I found that just being patient and allowing it to find new hosts worked just fine...

Default Downloads...

It has connected now but it doesn't give me the songs I am looking for.
They appear after the search but the download size gives like 140,019.
Not like 5,000 or more that are the usual length of a song.

Hi, I had that same no host connection problem as well. Using Bearshare Lite and was prompted to update. Didn't know it would update me to the new and unimproved Bearshare regular v6.1. Uninstall and system restore no fix. Was about to go mental if I was about to lose my trusted BS lite (after recently losing Musicmatch to Yahoo). Anyway, replaced the connect file and it works again and life is back to normal. Aaron is da man!

I was directed to Bearshare 5.3.0 in another forum, downloaded that and still no luck. I did some thinking on it, and finally copied the connect.txt off my step daughters computer since she could connect, transferred it into mine. And now it all works great.

I tried your copy Aaron in case it was better than my current one, but instead of doing anything, it paused on the first 20 or so hosts. I dunno if it was just me or not, but thought I'd mention it.
