Are many of the seasoned LW'ers using 2.8.6 ?

Is version 2.8.6 stable? And generally ok to update to?

I've been holding back at 2.7.9, watching the 2.8.x forum threads, and it seems to have quieted down. 2.8.6 has been out a least a week or more.

Are many of the seasoned LW'ers using 2.8.6 ?

Hi Johnream,

I am using 286 with a lot more success then I had with 285. The ultrapeer issue is fixed and the connections are much more stable. Searches return a respectable number of hits and downloads complete at a reasonable rate. There are still, however, a lot of minor bugs and really no major new features.

To do it all over I would absolutely skip 285 because it was a real bad release. From my experience so far with 286, it won't cause you serious problems - but - I am one person and one operating system etc.

All that said, I would give it a try. You can always roll back.

Good Luck,

Norm

No, issues that I know of just yet as I have only had it up for a good six minutes now. Yes release 2.8.5 was and is a nightmare edition of the LimeWire beta builds.

Should be OK

2.8.6 much better than 2.8.5! Go for it... as Norm said, you can rollback if not satisfied.

Ok, I updated to 2.8.6

And happy to report it's working well.

Seems like a solid release. Definately a few bugs are now gone.

:) :) :) :)

LimeWire 2.8.6 is a lot faster and better then 2.8.5. 2.8.6 seems to be working for me. :D
