which version of limewire has community functionality? If there is such functionality in old version, how/where to get it? thanks in advance.

LimeWire 1.8 still had it, I think, but it won't work without LimeWire's host cache which has been taken offline.

pardon the interruption, but is community functionality anything like the "ethernet" local lan additions to the new version? Just curious . . .

I don't think that's publicly available. The LimeWire cvs at http://www.limewire.org contains the source code since version 1.7.

No, it was an attempt to group gnutella nodes together according to the content they were looking for. But it never really worked.
