Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. Bans cannot be removed by the moderators and probably won't be removed by the administration. The Rules 1. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. 10. Posts should have descriptive subjects. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. 12. Signatures may be used as long as they are not offensive or sexually explicit. 13. Violation of any of these rules will bring consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis. Thank You! Thanks for taking the time to read these forum guidelines. | I also had the same problem with LimeWire 1.6d for OS X. I decided to open the package contents, and under Contents/Resources I noticed that a line in MRJApp.properties was different in the beta than the 1.6b release. The line: com.apple.mrj.application.classpath=/Users/limewire/Desktop/LimeWire6d/LimeWire.jar:/Users/limewire/Desktop/LimeWire6d/collections.jar should be: com.apple.mrj.application.classpath=Contents/Resources/Java/LimeWire.jar:Contents/Resources/Java/collections.jar Everything worked after making that change. There was another line that was different: com.apple.mrj.application.main=a.a.a.b.Main is now com.apple.mrj.application.main=com.limegroup.gnute lla.gui.Main but I think that's how it should be. The line I changed; however, definitely seems to be the issue as it gives the path to the jar files and everything appears to work after making the change. Oh, and one more thing. I tried posting this under my registration (iammanta), but it said I didn't have permission to post. I can post fine as Unregistered though. Interesting.... Hope this helps. |

| No I didn't as I had not checked my e-mail since registering and I was automatically logged into the site. It appears everything is working now that I have. Thanks for the info. As for LimeWire 1.6d, everything seems to work since I made the change I noted previously; however the occasional crash on startup seems to have returned. I didn't have the problem under 1.6b, but I'm having it now. Other than that, no issues. |

| I have just downloaded LimeWire 1.6d and it works great. If you cant get it to work than 99.9% of the time you did something wrong. All versions of LimeWire have worked on my system. Windows 98se........ Keep up the good work guys. Why dont you make the LimeWire Logos bigger on the shirt? |

| As I mentioned in another post, I just spoke with InstallShield support regarding the Ikernel.exe issue, and they pointed me towards a document that outlines trouble shooting steps for this problem. The InstallShield document reads: Summary I am getting one of the following errors during setup initialization: Error extracting support files Error installing Ikernel.exe (0x any number) Access is denied Error loading Type Library/DLL Discussion Setup initialization errors can be caused by a number of factors. This is a non-exhaustive list of possible resolutions: 1. Insufficient permissions on the machine. If you are using a Windows NT or a Windows 2000 machine, you need to have administrative permissions to run an InstallShield Professional 6.x setup. Make sure you have the correct permissions. 2. If you just ran an InstallShield setup, the engine takes a few seconds at the end of the installation to clean up. During this time Ikernel.exe (the engine file) is running in memory from a previous process; that is why you are not allowed to launch another setup. Waiting a few seconds and running the setup again should resolve this. 3. Check and make sure Ikernel.exe is not in memory; if it is, and no setup is running at the time, end that task. 4. Clean the temp directory. 5. Delete the Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Engine folder and then rerun the setup. 6. Reinstalling IE 5.x can also repair a number of corrupted/missing core windows files from your machine, so reinstalling IE 5.x and the NT service pack is also suggested. 7. Another possibility is that you do not have sufficient COM permissions. For information on how to troubleshoot this see article Q104986, INFO: Initialization Error Troubleshooting. 8. The other potential cause is a missing Stdole32.tlb file. This is a core Windows file and should exist on your machine. Make sure that you if you get this file from another machine, the machine is running the same operating system as the target machine. 9. Download and run DCom98.exe from the following site: http://www.microsoft.com/com/dcom/dcom98/download.asp Does following any of these steps enable your install to work?

| Just wanted to let you know that I downloaded the latest OS X version of 1.6d and everything is working good. I was online for about 3 hours yesterday evening and downloaded and uploaded a nice good amount. The only issue I've seen is the return of the crash of first run bug. I didn't have this problem with 1.6b, and it's now back in 1.6d. I've tried the latest version on two machines, a new iBook and a old Beige G3 266MHz MT both running Mac OS X 10.0.4. Hopefully the GUI performance will improve when 10.1 is release, but network performance seems to be fine. Thanks for all the hard work, and I really appreciate the attention given to make a version of LimeWire that takes advantage of the Java integration in Mac OS X. Thanks |
