I'm In Serious Trouble. Please Help

I recently purchased limewire for my mac osx. Once downloaded, I could not for the life of me get connected. I tried one of the tips stated in these forums to delete all system preferences from my computer and re-instal. However, I must have deleted the wrong file because Limewire now ceases to exist on my computer. How can I get this back? Did I just lose $20? Since it looked as if I was not going to connect, is it possible to get my money back? Please help me. Thank you very much.

NO, LimeWire won't give your money back, oh well :(

This is macosx sorry Vampmon! Those other apps are not worth much on mac! And XPSP2 obviously doesn't apply.

ajjones05 do you still have a copy of LW? If not you can simply redwnld it. Just return to your page (enter your email when asked) & redwnld. If you have connection problems, we can help to sort it out for you. Connections is not my strength area but others on the forum will help you. We can sort it out by going thru it bit by bit to find exactly what's wrong. If it's a firewall issue, it's easy to find out once you have LW installed.

If you're not sure about what page to go to: click this link And do as I suggested earlier.

Still in trouble

I am still cannot find any limewire file whatsoever and it looks like I just lost $20. I do not have limewire pro so I cannot retrieve it, unless there's something I'm missing for the standard version. I connect through my college dorm's ethernet cable if that made any difference. Thank you all very much for your help

I never managed compiling GTK-Gnutella on OSX...

But if he's behind a router, he needs to forward ports.

Sometimes Limewire takes a few minutes to connect. Sometimes the firewall is active and blocks Gnutella traffic...

College dorms like to block ports, so you should change the port of LimeWire for a start.

What do u mean you don't have LW Pro? Did u spend $20? Did you get it from http://www.limewire.com/english/content/home.shtml ? That's where you can dwnld it from. You'll need to redwnld it if you've lost it (unless you made a backup on disk), be it the pro version or free version. After you've reinstalled it there might yet be solutions even though you're probably behind a firewall/router as arne_bab suggested.

Possibly also simple solution to non connecting LW

What is your language setting?

Try setting it to english.

I don't know

I keep going to the page linked above which asks me to insert my email address, but it does not recognize it, and I am sure I'm putting in the right address. The link says Limewire pro. I spent $18 I think and I'm pretty sure it was not limewire pro. Where is the link to redownload limewire. Do I have to buy it again? Thanks
