[4.9.11] Window Size Issue and Tray Function Issue

Running KDE 3.4.2 on SuSE 9.3 Pro at 1280x1024.

1. Since somewhere around the releast of 4.8, whenever I start Limewire the width is fine (maximized), but the hieght is just slightly too short. Consequently, the window is slightly up off the task bar at the bottom. I can maximize it, but the same thing happens next time I start Limewire. Not major, but an annoying bug none the less.

2. Anytime Limewire closes to the systray, it leaves its presence on the taskbar AND creates the icon in the tray. Limewire should remove itself from the taskbar when closing to the systray.

Thanks,

DrSuSE

Yes, I've also have found the window sizing issue to be a bit of an annoyance... I'm also at 1280x1024, however my window is also not maximized for width, nor with hieght... window is docked at the top & left, having a tad of space at bottom & right. ;)

From personal experience I found that LimeWire residing in the Task bar and the launch area has been more of an Operating System Problem not related to LimeWire per se....

I did a Windows Restore to before the problem started and resolved my issues.

Is it possible to fix this?

Only really possible if the Limewire devs have decided they don't want to follow standards for operation in Linux.

Sizing bar gone and Mislabeled Bandwidth Indicator

Hey everyone,

I too am quite pleased with how 4.9.11 has turned out, and also enjoy the new splash screen.

However, I really liked the ability in 4.8.x and prior to resize the sub-windows to show what I want to see. The sizing bar is still there for going between downloads and search results, but it is now missing between the search bar and the search results. Now more of the information I like to view is out of my screen size, and I need to resize something else or scroll quite a bit. Just a little functionality that was greatly used before...

Also I just noticed a little typo in the options screen under the new Status Bar location: in the Bandwidth Indicator portion, you can select or deselect showing the BI, but the text is asking if you want to show your Firewall Indicator (which is two options above the BI). Just a small thing... but new users might be wondering if that does anything at all when it is mislabeled.

Thanks and keep up the amazing work!:D

Looks like the tray problem is still evident in Beta release v4.9.16. I still see both the taskbar button and the tray icon on minimize. However if I choose the "Exit After Transfers" option then Limewire successfully minimizes to the tray only.

An option within Limewire to disable the tray icon completely would be great. Since I use the kdocker utility on KDE I would rather let this control my system tray icon because it also lets me choose a custom tray icon.

sofar, i have noticed the height of limewire is unefficiently too large.

and i too am seeing the system tray bug.

You can disable the tray functionality by setting Limewire to "Shutdown Immediately."

The window size issue is still just an annoying issue not affecting functionality, so I guess it is low priority to the dev team.

Thanks,

DrSuSE

Wow... actually... as of 4.9.16 I cannot get the tray icon functionality to turn off... This is hugely annoying, why would I want it to be there when I am looking at Limewire. Ugh.
