Cpu runs 100%

When i try to start up limewire my computer basicly freezes and the mouse moves for a second every 10seconds or so, in task manager it says thats limewire is running at 100% of my cpu.

My specs are:
Msi k8n neo4
Anthlon 3500+ venice core
2gigs or ram

I did that Stack trace cause i know it will be needed, here it is hopefully i did it right

Can no body help me?

Grandpa September 25th, 2005 11:40 PM

It looks like a bad java install

You will need to install Java and LimeWire manually First go to the first link. You can find Links to java in there Download Java to your hard drive by putting a mark in the save to disc box. Save it to my documents or wherever you save downloads from the internet. Do the same with LimeWire the second link will take you there.

Now with that done click on start then control panel add/remove programs and see if Java is listed on the list if it is uninstall it. Do the same with LimeWire if the un installers were not loaded you may have to manually delete the files. But in most cases this is not necessary.

Now click on the Java installer you saved to your hard drive and follow the instructions after you have completed that do the same with LimeWire.

Please post back and let us know if it worked. If it did not I will give further instructions on manually deleting Java and LimeWire.

Still nothing, natta no difference

ultracross September 27th, 2005 07:17 PM

the LW developers are busy coding the CC branch. im sure that once their done with that branch, they will be happy to either help you or fix the bug.

Aaron8001 September 27th, 2005 07:25 PM

... as you can see above they have started to help me, so thank you for your input. thats why i do not expect them to rush out of their way to help. im just currious

ultracross September 28th, 2005 03:34 PM

meh.. grandpa is a senior member of the forum, not a developer.. although we/senior members are great to help with LW problems, bugs on the other hand are going to be dealt with by the development team.

methaal October 10th, 2005 07:12 AM

I have the same problem

My CPU usage goes way up when I use limewire. So what I get from reading the previous posts is that this is a bug? I'm not familiar with too much of this stuff. I'm used to calling some rep somewhere and there you go. Should I remove the program and do it all over? I did that once already, but maybe theres something else I can do.
