Hi Maanu,
I also use limewire 4.9.37 pro and zone alarm pro and was having the same problem, so I put my computer through a program called win speed ,but it didn't really help. So I did a virus scan with my zone alarm , and found that I had 2 viruses which once I got rid of them I found that Limewire would work a lot better, so maybe you should try this first.

PS. hope this helps if not I'll try to find out any other things that may cause this problem.
Have you opened up zone alarm and clicked on program control and gave Limewire permission in your trusted zone to have access to the internet

If you have XP, then disable the XP firewall. You shouldn't have 2 firewalls running together. They'll clash & may even result is less security. Here's a couple of links to see about Zone Alarm: 1. Connection Problem- Zonealarm, 2. Zonealarm

If that's not the issue, you may want to try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included.) This sometimes refreshes LW's abilities. But make note about any important option settings b/c once you delete the LW prefs folder, you'll need to reset them.
