Mouse buttons won't work!

I can open limewire and type in the search mode and hit 'enter' and it will run.

BUT, I can't change anything or even close the program because no matter what I highlight the mouse buttons won't work! I have to go to Task Manager and then into 'processes' and then close it. I reinstalled, installed java, deleted the file told to delete in the 'fixes for limewire problems' section. What a pain!

Everything worked fine for a long time by the way.

windows XP, service pack 2, 512 ram and 60 gig hard drive. Everything worked fine for months.

This sounds like a system problem. Have you defragged in a while?

Limewire Mouse Issue on Linux

So far I have liked the beta product quite well. I have had the same issue as above, but on a different platform.

SuSE 10.1 with LimeWire 4.11.0 and Java 1.5.0_06.

Not consistently, but once in a while as I am using Limewire I will lose 'focus' on the window. The interface appears responsive (progress bars move, searches continue to retrieve new items, etc...) but mouse and keyboard do not work. (Sound keeps on playing as well).

No idea what the problem is.. but alas it is there... and that is also why *they* call it a beta.

That can happen if a modal window pops up and it wasn't set to correctly have LW as its owner. There's a few stray dialogs like that in the code that we haven't properly caught. You can generally fix it by minimizing your apps one-by-one until LW is left, and the modal dialog will be left in the front. Let us know which dialog it was and we'll fix it.

BTW, for future beta bugs please see the "Beta Bug Report Info" thread.
