biggie i have the same problem...i loaded limewire basic a few days ago, then decided to get beta, i thought that the beta was an upgrade not a new program that would wreck everything...now i cant delete the limewire on my computer because it is apparently "still being used"...WTF!!! Limewire!!!
anyone know how to get round this problem?...
cheers Stretch

No, it doesn't suck.
When you install a new version of LW it should automatically uninstall the previous version on your computer. If you try to uninstall through add/remove programs, you can run into trouble. Go to start > all programs, highlight LW & choose the uninstall option from there. If you've used the add/remove programs method, try reinstalling LW & then uninstall it the right way:)

haha yeah it all sounds so simple...if it did show up in the all programs tab i would delete it, but it doesn't...it has never turned up in add/remove programs either so i couldnt do that either...i have only tried to re-install beta so far, so i will re-install basic and get back to you guys soon...cheers

You will need to install Java and LimeWire manually First go to the first link. You can find Links to java in there Download Java to your hard drive by putting a mark in the save to disc box. Save it to my documents or wherever you save downloads from the internet. Do the same with LimeWire the second link will take you there.

Now with that done click on start then control panel add/remove programs and see if Java is listed on the list if it is uninstall it. Do the same with LimeWire if the un installers were not loaded you may have to manually delete the files. But in most cases this is not necessary.

Now click on the Java installer you saved to your hard drive and follow the instructions after you have completed that do the same with LimeWire.
