ok i think i kind of understand by finding one of the post about direct connection...but when i go there it says
your computer is behind a firewall or router and cannot recieve direct connections

what does this mean? what do i do?

It means you need to open Limewire's listening port in your firewall, probably Router firewall. If using UPnP doesn't work for that, then you need to portforward.

I recommend using either an old Limewire version without BitTorrent support or Phex for Gnutella, Azureus is BitTorrent. None of this Limewire Gnutellatorrent hybrid crap.

okay i think i messsed up or something i trying to allow an exception to limewire so thered be no firewall and now it sayss trying to connect and it wont let me download?? what did i do wrong

I have limewire version 4.2.5 i only have one bar highlighted green it says quality: connecting and i'm sharing files. How come i can't get my quality to go to excellent?
