"Too specific" Message

Is there any way at all to stop this? I am guessing it is based on letters/numbers in the search. Too many cause the "too specific" message. But really, Try this for example
Artist: The M**k**s
Album: H**dquarters Sessions disc 1

You will invairably(?) get the "too specific" Message.

I KNOW it's specific. I am searching for that, and that alone.

you can't even fit Picses,Capricorn,Aquairius, and Jones LTD., in the search for crying out loud.

In the case of many of the files I am searching for I want specific. I may be looking for that album alone. I do not want every song The M**k**s ever recorded to pop up. I just want the search narrow, and yes quite specific.

Any help here will be greatly appreciated. Even if someone just points out a link where this is covered.

My only other complaint is the "spam" thing. I block by IP address, only to see that change within seconds. Literally. I have added Sponsored Results,(Sponsored results), a few others that I can't recall off the top of my head. I have not yet tried to eliminate that 134.5 or what ever it is. I will do that the next time I turn Limewire on.

For the record, having downloaded that previously it is an ad. I think for Overstock.com. Or something like it. I recall a Clinton impersonator with a rap like this, "My fellow Americans. I did not have sex with that woman. I did however go to Blah blah yadda yadda .com." I f*cking hate that place and the ad. For that reason alone I would never buy from them. In fact I will send them an e-mail stating that. Maybe that will put an end to it. Yeah right!

So any help with these problems, please drop me a line.

Thanks

Love limewire, it's the best in what I am searching for.

Yes all these issues have been discussed before. autogenerated spam results, & autogenerated mp3 spam results, & Sponsored Results (click on link)

Use your Junk filter also. That's what it's there for. It's a dynamic learning filter. It does however, take much longer for it to learn about viruses but eventually it's effective. Other spam types (such as above) are filtered out quickly.

Shorten your search. If searches were allowed to be any length then the extra traffic each search would require would slow the network down, searches would be very slow & would run out of energy before many results were returned. Search just the artist or artist & album or artist & title or album & title.

just a clarification

Okay. This is what I am talking about. I can search JUST the artist. However if I want something specific, and I mean very specific, again for example,

Artist: (the) M**k**es (I rarely use "the". I mostly use M**k**s, B**tl*s etc.)

Album Title: P*cses,Aqu*rius,C*pricorn, and J**es LTD (which is an official album title)

I then get the message search is too specific. Please shorten your search terms. Or something to that affect.

Just that particular M**k**s album title does not fit in the space.

And when searching for rare and/or bootlegs, alot of the specific titles (sans artist) do not fit in the search terms.

Again an example (completely made up, but doesn't fir the search parameters)

Artist: T**tula

Album Title: C**e into My P***r, said the sp*der to the fl*.

If you use that or something like that you will get the "too specific" message.

Even that "Album Title" would be "too specific" for a search.

Now were I to search JUST T**ntula, I would get many re***** I do not want, I may already have, or everything currently being traded by Tarantula.

Which is fine. I often manage to find something rare or unexpected in a general search.

I do understand that thiongs would be a mess if I could type in (again example)

D*nny and the D**s*urs the complete and entire catalog including alternate tracks and bootlegs.

My point however is IF I were to search
"D*nny and the D**s*urs F*ssils the une*rthed f*rg*tten tr*cks".
that search would be deemed "too specific".

Do you see what I am saying?

I just get frustrated when I make a very narrow specific search, that gets rejected, or I am asked to shorten the parameters.

I cannot always search for (as you suggest) Artist and Title.

That was and is my biggest point.

The other stuff, I shall surely read up upon, but I am learning to deal with those unwanted returns in my search.

I guess my big complaint there, is that many of the "unwanteds" have the same result with new I.P. addresses, that shift as soon as you block one. I just don't see how they can do that. It's baffling to me. Not that I expect that to change. I know there are rude clowns out there who like to post that crap. Or worse, there is another entity PAYING someone to post, change addresses, post again ad nauseum.

I really like LIMEWIRE the best of all the P2P progrrams. I find more of what I want there, than any where else I have tried so far.

It amy sound like I am being overly obessive about this. I really am not. It just gets to be frustrating after a bit is all.

Thanks for the help. I will read all those links. Thanks for the taken the time to answer. Thanks for letting me sound off.

Abbreviate your searches. Don't use the entire title if there's too many words in it.

I never thought of abbreviations. I will try that.

Also sorry for the use of real names. I did not realize that was a no no. It won't happen again.

Just for the record the lastwo "groups" mentioned in that post were completely made up. At the very least I am not aware of their actual existence. The first two were real, and I do apologise for crossing any lines here. That was not My intent.

Also thanks for all the help on this so far.
