Is there any benefit if I increase these Options?
 

Tools > Options
1) Uploads>Basic>Percentage of bandwidth devoted to upload?
2) Uploads>Slots>Allow many uploads per person
3) Advanced>Preferencing>Allow Freeholder : Set to ALWAYS

Allow your maximum bandwidth unless you have specific needs to routinely perform other functions such as eMail or VOIP or whatever. You will quickly observe any reduction in 'performance' re: non-p2p activity.
Logic dictates that you should start with a small number of Upload Slots and increase them one at a time. Allow several days of observation and you will see a steady increase in the total volume of Uploads achieved. Once you have gone that one step too far and your Upload volume drops, reduce slots by one !
Further, using the example of a 320Kbps Upload bandwidth, I strongly recommend limiting yourself to no more than 5 Upload Slots and a maximum of 6 Queued.
It is far far better to complete transfers as quickly as possible. Pretty numbers do not enhance actual effective performance.
Approaching the problem of optimising Upload performance from the other end, i.e. starting with large numbers of slots, will require far more time... Not logical.

As with so many things in life, Less Equals More.
Uploading is all about sharing as much as possible to as many as possible... This means it is desirable to limit the total number of concurrent Uploads so that they can be completed in the shortest possible time.
The result is simple... You are going to connect and successfully transfer far more files to far more people in any 24 hour period than you would by allowing large numbers of Upload Slots.

The total number of files you have to share does NOT relate to good performance... Experienced users know that no matter if they have 1,000s and 1,000s of files to share, it is always best to limit the number that are actually shared at any one time to about 100 or so... This applies to relatively small files... The number of movies and other large files should be even further limited.

Successful and rapid completion of transfers is the goal... Because, you are saying, "Next !" to a lot more people !

The other benefit is that you actually increase the total number of connections which is going to take you deeper and deeper into the network resulting in far greater resources available for your searches and Downloads !

Last... The default settings in all of the p2p clients are absurd. They are pretty numbers that reduce overall performance. Next time you are trying to Download something from a typical Shareaza user you will see what I mean... Queued as 198 of 199... Nothing ever happens because 99% of the time you are disconnected from the Queue long before you reach number 196 !!! Same goes for Limewire and, sorry to say, Phex... Not as bad as Shareaza but still not correct !
