Question on how to combine downloaded files

i have downloaded a blu-ray movie off the internet legally but the movie was "divided" into two separate .avi files. how can i "combine" them when burning/uploading to my PMP/MP4 player so as the movie is continous and gapless when i watch it?

Try putting it into a playlist, if your player supports video playlists.

I use a free program called MediaJoin. There are other free programs just as good. Google it, or search download.com, tucows, MajorGeeks, etc. (free download sites).

Some people break up very large files to make it faster to download, and/or to fit onto smaller disks.

I've never tried appending a file in the olde way (copy >>). I don't think it would work with AVIs and other file containers.

funny....there have been an increasing number of releases lately that are being supplied unsplit...uh huh..this is lamer because one either has to split it themselves (which can be a PITA and cause issues that are not easily rectified) or to reduce the quality drastically so that it can fit on one DVD disc...I guess there is also the option of burning to a dual layer disc, but many players do not support dual layer DVDR discs....

hell, even with the files supplied in 2 parts quality has to be reduced to fit on a disc....stoopid scene release rules where many times the length of the movie requires 3 discs to retain quality but they aren't released that way because of out of date (or stoopid) rules...
