Default The Question Is Pure Sarcasm

PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS ASKING IF LIMEWIRE IS LEGAL. AS IF IT WOULD SOMEHOW BE EVEN BETTER IF IT WERE. IT'S A STUPID QUESTION. I KNOW IT'S QUITE LEGAL. BUT I WOULD USE IT EVEN IF IT WERE NOT. AS I HAVE TOLD GLICKMAN MANY TIMES. SO PEOPLE NEED TO STOP ASKING SUCH A DUMB QUESTION. THAT'S WHAT THE POLE IS FOR. JUST FUN. EVEN IF LIMEWIRE DID SUCK,AGAIN, I WOULD STILL USE IT.

i think its pretty good , but it dose still have its problems. i like it because it has more content and its the onley place i can find lossless music and its faster than moast others ,so i say its best for performance. but the gui is a little dry and it dosent have built in chat and the free vershion pops up a nag window every time it starts, and it refuses to start maximized . but in spite of these things its still the best performance . it allsow has lots of little xtra featurs and settings that are nice .

but if ares p2p was faster ,had more content ,and had lots of lossless music i would say ares is the best.

I really only use the application for music, that's my passion, but to answer your question, hell yeah, it rocks! A couple of my friends are using Ares, I haven't checked it out because I haven't had the need to! To me, it's like going into a huge record store and playing whatever you want! A DJ's wet dream! Thanks all for sharing!

it dose ahve built in chat but its verry simple anf you can onley talk to one person at a time.

ares has over 2000 rooms you can go into and you can talk with a whole crowd of people at once. you can hoast your own room. and several other things that LW dosent have. but i still like LW best cuz its faster and has more content. and the gui can be changed with skins...i forgot about that...oops

well alot of things in limewire are currently changing (LW is still in its development infancy). and some of these features (like DHT/Chat and *cough*LimeWire DHT/Instant Messaging*cough* and DHT/BT support, DHT sha1 requeries. etc) are currently underway and are being developed as we speak. skins? hmm, i think LW could do alot better in that department, but atleast the core is powerfull and very fast and optimized.

cant wait to start beta testing these!!

i see your a betatester for it....that must meen your linked to the people who creted LW. heres what i think would be nice additons:

a file size filter

a better looking built in media player with more options

a way to kill all the spam

more skins as you sed

and make it so you can set it so it starts maximised insted of in a window

and make it so people cant put long strings of hit genorators in file names

Lots of things are changing indeed. LW in its infacy? LW is now over 5 years old But the infrastructures are in place to let a slew of new features coming in the next year... But you already know that, as I do.

yes, i believe the gnutella network itself is in its infancy. i know that it could be alot more efficient than it currently is.

(damn that hamburger looks good, it looks like a quarter pounder w/ cheese from mcdonalds mmmmm)

seriously it does suck.
lossless music? VBR MP3 is just as good.
IRC XDCCs are way faster.

limewire will be closed like grokster, the first napster, etc. because it flies under the radar with the "no piracy"

LW is one of the best p2ps iv ever used...

and it can never be shut down the way the old napster was, it dosent work that way

and dont tell me that vbr mp3 is the same as lossless music...
the best 320mp3 dosent come close to lossless

you listen to an mp3 (any bitrate (even 320)) and a wav file side by side and tell me you cant hear a differance.
