limewire quits on open

I just downloaded the beta version and everytime I try to open the application on my iBook I get a message saying that "The application LimeWire has unexpectedly quit." Please let me know what I can do because it is getting very frustrating!

which OSX version? If you upgraded QuickTime to 6.4, see this Apple note http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93414

My Limewire quits as well!!

Everytime I try to open Limewire it unexpectedly quits and my Quick Time Player is 6.3. It was working fine today until I upgraded. Why is it doing this? HELP ME!!!

Yep

Mine is doing the same thing. I'm 10.1.5... I know, I should upgrade that, but it doesn't sound like that is a fix. Besides, they say Limewire is compatible with "MacOSX"... not "MacOSX.2" etc. This is a problem. Going to lose many users because of this. Acquisition, huh? Hmmmm... I'll have to check it out.

karamellx2--this means your java is borked. Software Update might have a new java, or else you will have to search Apple.com to find the java install for your system

Limewire SHUTS DOWN 1 sec after open up !

Same issue for me with Mac OS X 10.5.2 version with Quicktime v7.4.1.
Limewire PRO (v 4.16) shuts down from itself one sec after it opens up.
Then message is prompted saying: "The application Limewire quit unexpectedly" with 3 choices: "Ignore", "report", "relaunch". If I choose "relaunch", same thing happens (shut don after one sec).

Anyone a solution in the meantime?
I'm really frustrated. Buying something and not being able to use it.

I tried to alow all connections and to remove all possible securities but it still doesn't work.

Thx

Does the Apple Menu->Software Update show any updates available for your Mac? Another poster with a similar problem was missing a Firmware Update.

If up to date, more info about the crash can be seen by opening your Mac's "Console" (it's in the Utilities folder). Open Console, then try LW again, and look at the error messages in Console that happen. Those messages can be copied and pasted, and should help find the problem.
